The Sanatan Labs Universal Audit Codex
Auditing every sector, stakeholder and system in the world, by Dr. Prakash Sharma
Pick the sector and stakeholder type, run the matching Sanatan tests, score the four master engines, and roll them into one KALKI Composite Score out of 100. This guide covers every step, in plain language, with ready prompts for any LLM.
It is a free self-assessment guide from Sanatan Labs. It complements ISO, IFRS, NIST, UN and national frameworks and statutory audits, helps anyone prepare for them, and adds the Sanatan lens. For a full, independent assessment, contact Sanatan Labs.
Preface
Every institution, from a family to a nation, tells a story about itself. Audits exist to test that story against reality. Yet most audits ask only whether the rules were followed. They seldom ask whether the organisation is truthful, fair, resilient, harmless and led from a clear and steady mind.
Sanatan Labs was founded to ask those deeper questions. Its frameworks (PASSIONIT, PRUTL, KALKI and AIDHARMA, together with the stress tests, consciousness engines and the Astronomy Illusion Framework) treat the enterprise, the state, the algorithm and the individual as one living system governed by cause and effect. Terms such as Satya (truth) and Samatva (equanimity) are used here as principles of systems and human behaviour, open to every culture and faith.
This codex brings those frameworks together in plain language, so that anyone, whether a village Sarpanch, a startup founder, a hospital board, a ministry or a student, can understand them and prepare for an audit. It works alongside international standards rather than replacing them: the Sanatan framework goes first, and international standards follow as the cross-check. With the ready prompts, any capable AI model can assist, provided every score is backed by evidence and checked by a human.
I invite every reader to use this guide honestly, to share it unchanged, and, when you are ready for a full and independent assessment, to reach out to Sanatan Labs. Satyam Eva Jayate: truth alone triumphs.

Objectives
This codex has eight objectives.
- Universal reach. Give every sector, subsector, institution, public office and individual in the world a clear roadmap for self-assessment.
- Plain language. Explain every Sanatan test simply: the question it answers, how it is conducted and the evidence it needs.
- Sanatan first, standards as cross-check. Run the PASSIONIT · PRUTL · KALKI · AIDHARMA framework first, then reconcile it with international and national standards.
- Consistent scoring. Anchor every score to the scoring guide and roll it into one comparable KALKI Composite Score.
- Explainability. Require evidence, sources and reasoning behind every score, so any reader can verify any finding.
- Responsible use of AI. Show how to use any LLM as an assistant auditor with ready prompts, disclaimers and cross-model reliability checks.
- Root causes, not symptoms. Trace problems to the incentive, system or belief that caused them, and fix them at that level.
- Audit readiness. Help every reader find and close gaps early, walk into formal audits prepared, and seek a full assessment from Sanatan Labs.

How to audit anything
The same five steps work for a household, an MSME, a ministry, an AI model or a planetary system. Only the evidence and the choice of tests change.
- STEP 1 · SCOPINGDefine the entityName it, draw its boundary, list stakeholders, fix the period.
- STEP 2 · EVIDENCECollect proofFinancials, contracts, KPIs, field photos, carbon data, code, interviews. No evidence, no score.
- STEP 3 · TESTSRun the testsPick from the sector map: SVT-18, SVT-16, FICTITIOUS, Astronomy grid, MARS–DELUSION and more.
- STEP 4 · SCOREScore with evidenceEvery score cites its evidence ID, source and reasoning, so anyone can trace why.
- STEP 5 · REMEDIATEReport and fixScorecard, red flags, 30/60/90-day plan, ISO / CMMI / SOC 2 / SDG mapping.
What this codex is, and is not
| This codex is | This codex is not |
|---|---|
| A free self-assessment guide anyone can use to prepare for an audit | A replacement for statutory, financial or certification audits |
| A simplified, plain-language guide that runs on any LLM | Legal, tax, medical or investment advice |
| A bridge: the Sanatan framework first, international standards as the cross-check | A rival to ISO, IFRS, NIST, UN or national standards |
| A way to find gaps early, fix them and walk into a formal audit ready | A certificate; formal certification comes only from accredited bodies |
What the Sanatan lens adds
Conventional audits ask whether the rules are met. The Sanatan framework asks deeper questions about the same organisation, so the two together give a fuller picture.
| Question | Conventional audit usually checks | The Sanatan lens adds | Engine or test |
|---|---|---|---|
| Is it true? | Whether records follow accounting and reporting rules | Whether every public claim matches a primary record | KALKI KSI, FICTITIOUS |
| Is it fair? | Whether policies exist | Whether people are actually treated with peace, respect, trust, unity and care, and resources are protected rather than hoarded | PRUTL (20 vectors) |
| Will it survive? | Going-concern and risk registers | Whether it lasts 18 months starved of money and supply, and whether one failure brings everything down | SVT-18, SVT-16 |
| Is it harmless? | Legal compliance on environment and safety | Every harm to people, nature, data and culture, with a circuit break for severe harm | AIDHARMA, MARS, DELUSION |
| Who is leading, and from where? | Governance structures | Leadership maturity, ego versus duty, and the inner state behind decisions | PASSIONIT, Saint Test, 16 Lokas |
| What does it ripple outward? | Rarely measured | Effects on families, communities and ecosystems beyond the balance sheet | RIPPLE, Dual-Engine 60/40 |
| Will it last for generations? | Record retention rules | Whether records, assets and values survive 50–100 years | Chiranjeevi |
| What illusion is it living in? | Not covered | Eleven patterns of systemic deception, from ego to greenwashing to elite capture | Astronomy Illusion Framework |
Get assessed by Sanatan Labs
Sanatan Labs encourages individuals, institutes, organisations and public bodies to get a full, independent assessment. You receive a comprehensive audit through the PASSIONIT · PRUTL · KALKI · AIDHARMA framework, with an international standards cross-check, in a cost-effective engagement tailored to your size.
- KALKI Scorecard with a full evidence register
- International and national standards cross-check and reconciliation
- Red flags and a 30 / 60 / 90-day remediation plan
- Recommendation for the SHE, KTC or CSI seal where earned
The 90-day engagement version
| Days | Phase | Work done |
|---|---|---|
| 1–15 | Macro baseline | SVT-18 perimeter scan, FICTITIOUS decay check, 16 Lokas leadership interviews |
| 16–45 | Micro traversal | SVT-16 dependency mapping, KSI truth filter on all claims, starvation simulation |
| 46–70 | Dual-Engine optimisation | 60/40 Ripple vs C-Score balancing, NOMOS contract ledgers |
| 71–90 | Downstream compliance | Map findings to ISO, CMMI, SOC 2, GRI and UN SDGs; issue scorecard |
- General LLMs do not know Sanatan Labs definitions. Paste the test definition into every prompt (chapter 17).
- An LLM can structure an audit and draft a scorecard. It cannot physically verify a warehouse, a carbon balance or a bank statement, and it can make mistakes. A human auditor verifies.
- Judgement-based scores (16 Lokas, Saint Test, Internal Transformation) must record their evidence so another auditor reaches the same number.
- Sanatan seals (SHE, KTC, CSI) are internal designations. Formal ISO, SOC 2 or CMMI status comes only from accredited certifiers.
- The framework is non-sectarian: terms such as Satya (truth) and Samatva (equanimity) are used as principles of systems and psychology, and every entity in every country and faith is judged on the same evidence.
The universal audit sequence: Sanatan framework first, then international cross-check
Every audit in this codex, whatever the sector, runs in the same four phases. In every table of this codex, the Sanatan framework column comes first and the international standards column follows it as the cross-check.
| Phase | What is done | Output |
|---|---|---|
| A · Sanatan framework | Run the four master engines (PASSIONIT, PRUTL, KSI, AIDHARMA) and the sector's Sanatan tests, scored with the scoring guide (chapter 18) | Sanatan scores with evidence IDs |
| B · International cross-check | Test the same entity against the international and national standards listed for it (ISO, IFRS, NIST, UN conventions, sector law); mark each requirement Met, Partly met or Missing | Compliance table with evidence IDs |
| C · Reconciliation | Compare A and B finding by finding: Agree, Sanatan-only, Standards-only or Conflict; explain every conflict | Reconciliation matrix |
| D · Combined verdict | KALKI Composite, compliance status, red flags and one remediation plan that closes both sets of gaps | Final report |
Why both: standards show whether the rules are met; the Sanatan framework shows whether the entity is truthful, fair, resilient and harmless in practice. An entity can be ISO-certified and still score low on KSI, and the reconciliation makes that gap visible.
The explainability rule: no score without evidence
Every score in a Sanatan audit carries five things, recorded in an Evidence Register. A score that cannot show them is reported as Not scored: evidence gap, never guessed.
| Field | What it records | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Evidence ID | A short reference the score points to | E3 |
| Source | Document, page, record or person | Bank loan file, FY26, page 4 |
| Data point or quote | The exact figure or words relied on | "312 active distributors" |
| Reasoning | How the evidence leads to the score | GST invoices show 204 distributors; claim inflated 53% |
| Confidence | High, Medium or Low, with why | High: two independent records agree |
The test library, explained simply
Each test answers one plain question. Choose a family to see what it asks and how it is run.
| Test | The plain question | How it is conducted |
|---|
Astronomy Illusion Framework: 11 archetypes and who audits them
| Archetype | Illusion it exposes | Letters to check | Auditor role |
|---|
Mark each letter Present, Partial or Absent with evidence and the SDG affected. MARS (Material, Atmospheric, Resource, Systemic entropy) and DELUSION (Displacement, Ecological fraud, Leadership evasion, Unchecked energy, Synthetic narrative, Infrastructure fragility, Opacity, Net-zero illusion) run alongside for any ecological claim.
PRUTL in full: four quadrants, twenty vectors
| Quadrant | Vectors (score each 0–10) | What the auditor observes |
|---|---|---|
| Positive Soul | Peace · Respect · Trust · Unity · Love | Calm conflict handling, dignity given to juniors, promises kept, shared goals, genuine care |
| Negative Soul | Pride · Rule · Usurp · Tempt · Lust | Ego and arrogance, need to dominate, taking credit or power, luring others into wrong, craving that overrides judgement |
| Positive Materialism | Protector · Recycler · Positive Utility · Tangibility · Longevity | Guards shared resources, reuses and repairs, uses things for real benefit, values real over hyped, builds and buys to last |
| Negative Materialism | Possession · Rot · Trade · Lessen · Negative Utility | Hoarding and attachment, waste and neglect, everything treated as a transaction, cheapening value, things that cause harm |
Soul Net = mean(Positive Soul) − mean(Negative Soul) range −10 to +10 Material Net = mean(Positive Materialism) − mean(Negative Materialism) range −10 to +10 PRUTL score = ((Soul Net + Material Net) ÷ 2 + 10) × 5 range 0 to 100
Sector and subsector map
Every sector runs the four master engines. The map adds the sector's priority tests, the Astronomy archetypes most likely to surface and the downstream standards. Sectors follow the broad UN ISIC structure so the whole economy is covered.
| # | Sector | Subsectors | Priority Sanatan tests | Archetypes | Standards |
|---|
Not listed? Map the entity to the nearest sector by what it physically does, then borrow tests from any row that fits a specific risk.
Stakeholder roadmaps
Each stakeholder runs a fixed sequence of tests, in order, against a defined evidence pack.
| Stakeholder | Test sequence | Evidence to gather | Target outcome / seal |
|---|
Individual behaviour audit
A person is audited by behaviour, not by intention. Each test below names the behaviour, the simple way to test it and the evidence that makes the score honest. Every score is the average of a self-rating and three observer ratings, and each one cites the example or log entry behind it.
How the individual test is conducted
- DAY 1Self-ratingScore every vector 0–10 alone, honestly, with one example each.
- DAY 1–3Three observersOne family member, one colleague, one friend rate the same vectors privately.
- DAY 1–14Behaviour logNote daily: anger, kindness, purchases, waste, promises kept or broken, screen time, sleep.
- DAY 15ScoreAverage self + observers. A gap of 3+ between self and observers is itself a finding.
- DAY 15–90PracticePick the three weakest vectors, set one daily practice each, re-test on day 90.
The individual test battery
| Test | Behaviour it checks | How to test it simply | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| PRUTL Soul | Peace, Respect, Trust, Unity, Love against Pride, Rule, Usurp, Tempt, Lust | Recall your last 5 conflicts. Did you stay calm, listen, keep your word, or did ego, control and craving decide? | Conflict log, observer ratings |
| PRUTL Material | Protector, Recycler, Positive Utility, Tangibility, Longevity against Possession, Rot, Trade, Lessen, Negative Utility | Review 3 months of purchases. How many were needed, used, repaired, shared? How many sit unused or harm you? | Bank and card statements, a walk through your home |
| RIPPLE (personal) | The effect you leave on others | Ask 5 people: after time with me, do you feel lighter or heavier? Score each ring: family, work, friends, community. | Five short answers |
| PASSIONIT (personal) | Self-leadership across 8 vectors | Rate how you probe problems, act, scope, set rules for yourself, innovate, own mistakes, nurture others, transform inwardly. | Journal, decisions of last quarter |
| KSI Self-Truth | Whether your claims about yourself are true | List claims on your CV, social profiles and in conversation. Mark each Verified, Inflated or Unprovable. | Certificates, records, peers |
| AIDHARMA (personal) | Harm you cause to people, nature or data | List habits that harm: waste, plastic, harsh words, addictive apps you push on others, sharing others' private data. | Behaviour log |
| Fourth Space / KIMB | Calm awareness versus reactive fear | Under the next 3 stressful moments, pause 10 seconds before replying. Note whether the reply came from calm or fear. | Stress log |
| Somatic Masterstroke | Body as foundation of clarity | Track sleep hours, movement, food discipline and breath practice for 14 days. | Sleep and step data |
| Saint Test | Ego versus duty | Can you admit a mistake publicly, let someone else lead, give up credit? Note the last time you did each. | Observer ratings |
| 16 Lokas (personal) | Inner state behind decisions | Take your 3 biggest recent decisions. Were they from fear (1–5), bargaining (6–10) or stewardship (11–16)? | Decision journal |
| SVT-18 Personal Runway | Resilience if income stops or illness strikes | How many months can you live with zero income? Which skills would still earn? Are health, life and term insurance adequate, and is the nominee updated? | Savings, monthly budget |
| SHAME-COT (personal) | Mental diet and manipulation | Audit your feeds: how much is fear, outrage, ads, gossip versus learning? Count screen hours. | Screen-time report |
| Chiranjeevi (personal) | Legacy that outlives you | Is your will written, nominee updated, knowledge passed on, a mentee trained? | Documents |
Individual KALKI Scorecard
The same formula applies to a person: KALKI = 0.25 PASSIONIT + 0.25 PRUTL + 0.30 KSI Self-Truth + 0.20 AIDHARMA. RIPPLE, Fourth Space, SVT-18 runway and 16 Lokas are reported beside it. The report names its auditor of record: the person, a coach, or the LLM model that ran the audit.
| Engine | Example result (fictional person) | Score | Weighted |
|---|---|---|---|
| PASSIONIT | Average 6.5 / 10; strong Acting, weak Internal Transformation | 65.0 | 16.25 |
| PRUTL | Soul Net +3.0, Material Net +1.0 | 60.0 | 15.00 |
| KSI Self-Truth | 9 of 12 claims verified, 1 inflated | 70.0 | 21.00 |
| AIDHARMA | Severity sum 5 (plastic, harsh speech, data sharing) | 75.0 | 15.00 |
| Individual KALKI | Grade Kurma (Stabilising); RIPPLE 6.8, runway 4 months, Loka 9 | 67.3 |
Public office, governance and protests
Every public office, from a Prime Minister to a village Sarpanch, and every public movement that challenges it, is audited on the same question: did the office deliver what it promised, honestly, without harm, using public money well? The tests stay the same at every level; the scale and the public records change.
- Apply the identical test set to every party, ideology and country. An audit that scores only opponents is propaganda, not audit.
- Audit the office and its public conduct, using public records: budgets, audit reports, affidavits, legislative records, RTI or freedom-of-information replies, court judgments.
- A pending case is an allegation, not a conviction. Report it as such.
- Private life is out of scope unless it involves public money, public power or a court finding.

Public Office KALKI Scorecard
The four engines translate directly to public office. Weights stay 25 / 25 / 30 / 20 so offices can be compared across levels.
| Engine | Measured in public office as | Example indicators |
|---|---|---|
| PASSIONIT (25%) | Leadership maturity of the office holder and team | Crisis response time, decisions reversed, delegation, innovation in schemes |
| PRUTL (25%) | Culture of the office: soul and material behaviour | Respect to citizens and juniors, transfers used as punishment, asset growth versus income, protection of public assets |
| KALKI KSI (30%) | Promises and claims versus verified outcomes | % of manifesto or scheme targets verified on the ground, inflated statistics |
| AIDHARMA (20%) | Harm caused by policies or conduct | Displacement, environmental damage, exclusion of vulnerable groups, data misuse |
Protests, activism and social movements
A protest is audited from both sides with the same standard: the movement, and the authorities who respond. The audit never decides which cause is right. It checks whether the grievance is real, whether conduct is honest and peaceful, whether rights are respected, and whether the root cause gets fixed.
| Dimension | Movement side: what is checked | Authority side: what is checked | Tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grievance | Is the grievance documented with data? Are demands specific and achievable? | Was the grievance heard before it reached the street? How long was it pending? | Root-Cause Ladder, KSI |
| Truth | Are crowd numbers, casualty claims and slogans accurate? | Are official statements on numbers, injuries and incidents accurate? | KSI, FICTITIOUS |
| Narrative integrity | Organic support or bots, paid amplification, foreign or partisan capture? | Labelling protesters, propaganda, information blackouts | SHAME-COT, T-03, Moon and Neptune archetypes |
| Funding | Who funds it? Is funding disclosed? | Public money spent on policing and its justification | HAZAM, NOMOS |
| Conduct | Nonviolence, discipline, harm to public, property and essential services | Proportional, necessary, lawful force; treatment of detainees | PRUTL, AIDHARMA, UN Basic Principles on Use of Force |
| Rights | Respect for others' rights to move, work and access hospitals | Right of peaceful assembly, speech, internet access, due process for arrests | Judiciary Loop Holes, ICCPR Art. 21, UN General Comment 37 |
| Resolution | Willingness to negotiate and accept partial wins | Dialogue held, commitments made and kept | Saint Test, 18 Vyuhas (deadlock breaking), KSI promise tracker |
| Crowd safety | Marshals, medical aid, exit routes | Crowd-management plan, emergency access | SVT-16 cascade, ISO 20121 |
Root causes: crime nexus, terrorism and systemic failure
A symptom fixed at the surface returns. The Sanatan Root-Cause Ladder keeps asking "why" through five layers until the cause sits in a rule, an incentive or a belief that can actually be changed.
The Sanatan Root-Cause Ladder
| Layer | Question | Sanatan tests that answer it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Symptom | What exactly happened, and is the data true? | KSI, Newtonian Cause-Effect, SHAME-COT |
| 2 · Behaviour | Who did what, and who allowed it? | PRUTL, PASSIONIT, Saint Test |
| 3 · Incentive | Why did it pay, and who gained money, power or votes? | HAZAM, AIDHARMA, Dual-Engine |
| 4 · System | Which rule, gap or weak link let it happen and repeat? | Judiciary Loop Holes, 3-6-9-12, SVT-16, NOMOS |
| 5 · Consciousness and culture | Which belief made it seem normal? | 16 Lokas, FICTITIOUS, Astronomy Illusion grid |
How the root-cause audit is conducted
- State the problem as a fact with a number and a date (KSI-verified).
- Ask "why" five times, once per ladder layer, citing evidence at each step.
- Draw a fishbone with six branches: People, Process, Money, Law, Technology, Narrative. Place every cause on a branch.
- Test each cause: if it were removed, would the problem stop? Keep only causes that pass.
- Fix at the deepest layer that can be changed, and add one quick fix at layer 1 or 2 to stop the harm now.
- Re-audit after 90 days to confirm the symptom has actually fallen.
Example (fictional): a district water scheme that failed
| Layer | Finding |
|---|---|
| 1 · Symptom | 212 of 400 tap connections recorded as working; field check finds 71 working |
| 2 · Behaviour | Engineers certified completion without site visits |
| 3 · Incentive | Contractor paid on certificates, not on water flow; staff rated on certificates issued |
| 4 · System | No independent check; Gram Sabha sign-off was optional |
| 5 · Culture | "Paper completion" accepted as normal (FICTITIOUS Phase 2) |
| Fix | Pay on measured water flow; make Gram Sabha and photo verification mandatory; re-rate staff on working connections |
Crime–politics–business nexus audit
The nexus is audited as a system weakness in institutions, using public and lawfully obtained records, to guide prevention and reform.
| Indicator | Public evidence | Tests |
|---|---|---|
| Candidates and office holders with serious pending cases or convictions | Election affidavits, court records | KSI, Saint Test |
| Unexplained asset growth of officials | Successive asset declarations, tax records | HAZAM, PRUTL Possession |
| Contracts repeatedly won by connected firms | Procurement portals, company registries, beneficial ownership data | NOMOS, HAZAM, Mercury R |
| Cases stalled for years or conviction rates far below peers | Court data, police statistics | Judiciary Loop Holes, 18 Vyuhas |
| Cash-heavy sectors with weak reporting | Financial intelligence unit summaries, sector studies | HAZAM, FATF risk assessment |
| Whistleblowers or journalists threatened | Court and press records, NGO trackers | Uranus R, Pluto U |
Terrorism and violent extremism: root-cause and prevention audit
This audit examines why a society or region is vulnerable and how well institutions prevent violence. It does not cover operations or tactics.
| Ladder layer | Root-cause drivers to audit | Prevention capacity to audit | Sanatan framework (run first) | International and national standards (cross-check) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Structural | Unemployment, exclusion, poor governance, unresolved grievances, weak rule of law | Inclusive development, justice delivery, grievance redressal | PASSIONIT, PRUTL, KSI, AIDHARMA | UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy (Pillar I), SDG 16 |
| Enabling | Illicit financing, trafficking networks, ungoverned online spaces, prison radicalisation | Financial intelligence, AML and CFT controls, platform cooperation, prison programmes | PASSIONIT, PRUTL, KSI, AIDHARMA | FATF Recommendations 5–8, UNSCR 1373 |
| Narrative | Propaganda, identity manipulation, hate speech, conspiracy ecosystems | Counter-narratives, media literacy, community and faith leader engagement | SHAME-COT, Neptune and Moon archetypes | Applicable national law and sector regulator rules |
| Institutional | Agency silos, poor intelligence sharing, corruption in border or police systems | Coordination, oversight, human-rights compliance | 3-6-9-12, SVT-16 Shivaji | UN human-rights guidance |
| Recovery | Repeat cycles of violence and revenge | Victim support, rehabilitation and reintegration, reconciliation | PRUTL Unity, AnnaPurna ground check | Applicable national law and sector regulator rules |
AI, LLM and MLOps audit
Any AI system is audited three ways: what type of AI it is and how much harm it could cause, how well it was built and run across its lifecycle, and how it actually behaves when tested. An LLM can be audited by another LLM using the prompts in chapter 17, with a human checking the results.
Types of AI and their risk focus
| AI type | Examples | Main risks to audit | Risk tier (EU AI Act style) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Large language models and chatbots | General assistants, customer-service bots, copilots | Hallucination, bias, toxic output, jailbreaks, privacy leakage, overconfidence | Limited to general-purpose; systemic if very large |
| Generative media | Image, video, voice and music generators | Deepfakes, copyright, non-consensual imagery, missing labels | Limited (transparency duties) |
| AI agents | Agents that browse, code, pay or act on systems | Unsafe actions, prompt injection, runaway loops, weak human approval | Depends on actions allowed |
| Predictive and scoring ML | Credit scoring, hiring, insurance, fraud, exam grading | Unfair discrimination, opacity, no appeal route | High |
| Computer vision and biometrics | Face recognition, surveillance, medical imaging | Misidentification, mass surveillance, consent | High or prohibited uses |
| Recommender systems | Feeds, ads, e-commerce, short video | Addiction, polarisation, manipulation of minors | Limited; systemic for very large platforms |
| Autonomous and physical AI | Self-driving cars, drones, robots, industrial control | Physical harm, failure under rare conditions | High |
| AI wrappers and resellers | Apps built on someone else’s model | Overclaiming own technology, data sent to third parties, vendor lock-in | Inherits underlying risk |
| Frontier and AGI labs | Labs training the most capable models | Dangerous capabilities, concentration of power, safety culture | Systemic |
AI lifecycle audit (with MLOps controls)
| Stage | What is checked | MLOps controls that must exist | Sanatan tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Problem framing | Is AI the right tool? Who could be harmed? Is there a human alternative? | Use-case register, impact assessment | AIDHARMA, Saint Test (should we build it at all) |
| 2 · Data | Source, consent, licence, representativeness, labelling quality, personal data | Data versioning, lineage, datasheets, PII scanning | KSI (data claims), Chiranjeevi |
| 3 · Model development | Architecture choice, training compute and energy, reproducibility | Experiment tracking, seeded runs, code review | Newtonian, MARS (energy) |
| 4 · Evaluation | Accuracy, fairness across groups, robustness, safety red-teaming | Evaluation suites in CI, model cards, sign-off gates | LLM test battery, KSI |
| 5 · Deployment | Access control, rate limits, human oversight, user disclosure | Model registry, CI/CD, canary release, rollback plan | NOMOS, SVT-16 (failure cascade) |
| 6 · Monitoring | Drift, new failure modes, misuse, complaints, cost and carbon | Drift alerts, logging, incident response runbook | RIPPLE, SHAME-COT |
| 7 · Retirement | Safe shutdown, data deletion, user migration | Decommission checklist, archive policy | Chiranjeevi, AIDHARMA |
LLM model test battery
| Test | What it measures | How it is conducted simply | Public benchmarks or methods |
|---|---|---|---|

Auditing policies, procedures and legal documents
Any written document can be audited by attaching it to an LLM and running the Sanatan document tests. Every finding must quote the clause it comes from, so a reader can open the document and check it in seconds.
What can be audited
| Document family | Examples |
|---|---|
| Policies | Code of conduct, HR and leave, POSH / anti-harassment, data privacy, information security, anti-bribery, whistleblower, procurement, ESG and sustainability, AI use, social media, travel and expense |
| Procedures and SOPs | Standard operating procedures, work instructions, incident response runbooks, onboarding checklists, quality manuals, safety procedures |
| Contracts and agreements | Vendor and customer contracts, NDAs, MOUs, employment and consultant agreements, franchise agreements, leases, loan agreements, shareholder and partnership deeds, SLAs |
| Public-facing legal text | Terms of service, privacy notices, cookie notices, refund policies, warranty terms, consent forms |
| Governance and personal documents | Board resolutions, articles and bylaws, trust deeds, temple or NGO constitutions, wills, powers of attorney |
How to attach and prepare documents
- Use an approved tool. Only upload to an AI tool your organisation has approved for confidential material.
- Redact what the test does not need: personal IDs, bank details, signatures and names of private individuals. Replace them with labels such as [Employee A].
- Attach the full, final version as PDF or Word. Note its version number and date. For a very long document, audit one section per prompt.
- State the jurisdiction and governing law (for example India, Maharashtra; or England and Wales), and the standard or law to test against.
- For a policy-versus-practice test, also attach evidence of practice: logs, records, emails or survey results.
- Keep the original unchanged. Ask for suggested redlines as a separate list, not an edited copy.

Defence, police and justice system audits
The armed forces, police and courts hold the state's power to use force and to judge. They are audited on whether that power is used lawfully, efficiently, honestly and with care for the people inside and outside the institution.
- Audit governance, money, people, rights and outcomes. Operational plans, tactics, deployments and classified information are out of scope; where they matter, refer the question to the authorised oversight body.
- Use public or lawfully authorised data: supreme audit reports, parliamentary committee reports, official statistics, court data, right-to-information replies.
- For pending court cases, audit the process (delays, adjournments, procedure), never the merits of the case.
- Report allegations as allegations, and apply the same tests in every country and to every government.

Audit the auditor and continuous monitoring
An audit is only as trustworthy as the auditor, human or AI. These checks measure how reliable an audit is, and keep audits running on a schedule instead of once.
Auditor Reliability tests
| Test | What it measures | How it is conducted | Pass rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cross-model agreement | Do different AI auditors reach the same result? | Run the same prompt and evidence through 2 or 3 different LLMs; compare KALKI scores and findings | Scores within 10 points: consistent. 10 to 20: human review. Over 20: unreliable, human re-audit |
| Repeatability | Does the same auditor give the same answer twice? | Run the same model on the same evidence twice, in fresh chats | Scores within 5 points |
| Evidence verification sample | Are cited quotes and figures real? | Check a random 10% of evidence citations (at least 5) against the original documents | Any fabricated quote or source: reject the whole report |
| Finding overlap | Do auditors find the same problems? | Share of High findings that appear in both reports | At least 70% overlap |
| Human calibration | Does the AI agree with an expert? | An experienced auditor scores the same case blind; compare | Within 10 points on each engine |
| Independence and conflicts | Is the auditor free of interest in the result? | Declarations of interest, fee dependence, prior relationships | No undisclosed conflicts |
| Competence | Does the auditor know the field? | Qualifications, experience, for AI: tested on a known case first | Documented |
Standards for audit quality: ISQM 1 and ISA 220 (financial audit firms), IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, ISO 19011 (auditing management systems), ISO/IEC 17021-1 (certification bodies).
Continuous monitoring
| Risk level | Re-audit frequency | What runs between audits |
|---|---|---|
| High (finance, safety, AI in critical uses, public office) | Quarterly full audit | Monthly KSI claim checks and NOMOS obligation tracking |
| Medium | Every six months | Quarterly evidence refresh on red flags |
| Low | Yearly | Self-assessment at six months |
Triggers for an unscheduled re-audit: a serious incident, leadership change, new funding or acquisition, a major law change, a complaint spike, or a model or system upgrade. Use the same prompts, evidence format and weights each time so KALKI scores can be compared as a trend.
Prompting any LLM
The most important rule: paste the test definition into the prompt. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Llama or Grok will guess if you type only "SVT-18". Every good audit prompt has six parts: role, framework definition, entity, evidence, output format and a truth guardrail.
The auditor of record is whoever produces the report: a human auditor or the LLM that answers the prompt. Enter that name in the builder. The framework stays credited to Sanatan Labs and Dr. Prakash Sharma, who is not the auditor.
Fill the builder below. It assembles a complete prompt with the definition already included.
Tips that improve results
- Run one test per prompt, then a final prompt that combines the scores. Long multi-test prompts lose detail.
- Insist on the Evidence Register. If the model gives a score without evidence IDs, reject it and ask again.
- Spot-check at least three cited quotes or figures against the original documents; models can misquote.
- Save the Sanatan framework definitions as a file, project instructions or a skill, and attach them every time.
- Ask a fresh chat or a second model to critique the first audit and find unsupported scores.
- Never paste confidential data into a tool your organisation has not approved.
- To test an LLM, run the AI / LLM Model Audit prompt in a different model, so no model grades itself.
Scoring guide
Every 0–10 score in a Sanatan audit is anchored to the descriptions below, so two auditors, or two AI models, looking at the same evidence reach close to the same number. Pick the band whose description matches the evidence, then choose the lower or upper number in that band by how strong the evidence is.
Evidence rules for all scores
| Rule | Requirement |
|---|---|
| No evidence | Write NOT SCORED: EVIDENCE GAP. Never guess. |
| Score 7 or above | At least two independent evidence sources |
| Score 9 or 10 | Independent verification (records plus field check, or third-party audit) |
| Self-reported only | Cap at 6 until verified |
| Conflicting evidence | Score on the weaker evidence and explain the conflict |
